Club FITA/WA Shoot

2017 – Club FITA/WA Shoot Results

Another warm, humid, breezy day at Runwell for this year’s Club FITA – and nice to see lots of enthusiastic archers shooting a variety of metric rounds.

Phil would like to thank all that turned up and helped to set up the field, those that shot, and those that helped with the scoring which all made the day run smoothly and enjoyable. A special thanks to our Lady Paramount Julie Tedore and Julie Cowell for dealing with the food and drinks. Thanks also go to Brian Henning and Adam Ratchford for marking out the field.

2016 – Club FITA/WA Shoot Results

A good turnout this year, on what was a very warm, sticky day blessed with some sunshine and (at the further distances at least) a slightly tricky breeze.

Thanks again to Phil L for making the day run smoothly and getting results out so quickly, to Brian H for running around with ArroJack and detectors for us, Marcel for Lady P duties and particularly Jan Regan for multitasking so well (catering, painting new target stands and support for young Zach!).

2015 – Club FITA/WA Shoot Results

Despite a lower-than-hoped turnout, and some tricky weather conditions, RTAC archers made a good showing at this year’s shoot with some excellent scores across the board and a new club record being set by Ryan H!

Many thanks as always to Phil for organising the shoot and collating the results (slightly easier this year, presumably, due to the low numbers!), and the field party for setting everything up.

2014 Club FITA/WA Report and Results

With the sun beating down on the hottest day of the year so far, almost 30 archers lined up for the various rounds, a feat of organisation and coordination by Phil Lees and the field team.

Excellent shooting this year (especially considering the wilting heat) with a few notable standouts, not least from our new ‘novice’ senior gents Dave Field and Mike Phillips, with Dave taking Best Gold of the day.

Down at the 90m end, a proper ding-dong was going down among the Compounders with Chris Clayton pipping rival Vic D to the win by a single point while Recurver Grant H edged out Senior Team skipper Ian B with 1128 against 997.

Jackie H was in a league (a class!) of her own, winning the Ladies FITA out at 70m, while Phil Rowberry shot 1108 to win the Metric 1 with a new set of limbs and without sightmarks, improving on his PB by 43 points (and a claim for the club record too…?)

Excellent scoring amongst the juniors, too, with William Knowlson racking up a huge 1158 points, Lyndsey and Joanna also shooting strong at 15/10m. Compounders  Alex, Jason and James nailed big scores for their respective rounds (and Best Junior Gold for Jason), but what’s with James C winning the Recurve Metric 2 AND getting worst white?! Must have been the midday sun.

A special mention for Ryan Hanan who claimed gold with a new Club Record score of 1020 in the Boys Metric 4. Well done Ryan!

From all accounts it was a brilliant day – thanks to all the archers, committee, field team and parents.
